Trump has erupted once again—this time demanding a formal apology from CBS after Marjorie Taylor Greene torched him on 60 Minutes.
In the interview, Greene — once one of Trump’s most loyal MAGA allies — openly broke ranks after his refusal to release the Epstein files. Sitting across from Lesley Stahl, she unloaded with surprising bluntness, saying Republicans privately mock Trump behind closed doors even though they rushed to throw on MAGA hats the moment he won the 2024 primary.

Her candor sent Trump into a full-blown meltdown. On Truth Social, he labeled Greene a “traitor,” mocked her as someone “jilted by the President,” and compared her to a “rotten apple,” claiming her ideas had become “really bad.” He didn’t stop there. Trump also tore into Lesley Stahl and 60 Minutes, reviving old grievances about Stahl dismissing the “Hunter Biden laptop” story and insisting CBS owes him a long-overdue apology.
Trump went on to attack Paramount—the new parent company of CBS—saying it’s “no better than the old ownership,” despite previously paying him millions in a settlement. He accused 60 Minutes of declining in quality and blasted the network for airing Greene’s interview at all.

Whether CBS decides to indulge Trump’s latest demand remains to be seen, especially given criticism that the network has been increasingly accommodating to right-wing narratives.
What this episode makes clear is that Trump has no intention of easing up on his pressure campaign against the media. He is pushing to reshape the information landscape into one that mirrors his desires and grievances. The clash between political power and press freedom is only growing sharper, and this confrontation is far from over.
